Delicious Chicken Biryani Recipe

Ingredients

  • Onions – 250g, sliced long
  • Tomatoes – 250g, sliced long
  • Green chili – 8 to 10, whole
  • Cloves – 6
  • Cinnamon sticks – 5
  • Cardamom pods – 5
  • Red chili powder – 1.5 tsp
  • Salt – 1.5 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  • Basmati rice – 500g, soaked and drained
  • Chicken – 500g, medium cut
  • Mint leaves – handful, chopped
  • Fresh coriander leaves – handful, chopped
  • Ginger garlic paste – 4 tsp

Method

  1. Heat oil in a large pot.
  2. Add cloves, cinnamon sticks, and cardamom pods. Let them sizzle and release their aroma.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Add onions and fry until golden brown.
  5. Add whole green chilies and mix.
  6. Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt, stirring to blend well.
  7. Mix in chopped mint and coriander leaves for a fresh aroma.
  8. Add sliced tomatoes and cook until softened.
  9. Add chicken pieces, mixing well with the masala, and let them cook until tender and the bone begins to separate.
  10. Separate the cooked chicken into a bowl.
  11. Add drained and soaked basmati rice to the masala, gently mixing to coat the rice.
  12. Pour in 1 glass of water (adjust according to the rice quantity), considering the moisture from the masala.
  13. Return the chicken to the pot, gently mixing with the rice.
  14. Cover and let cook until the rice is soft and fluffy.
  15. Serve hot, garnished with sliced onion and cucumber.
